Below is jimmy Fallon using Loopu HD to create awesome Duets with being like Robert Plants, Billy Joel, and Will Smith.
Loopy HD is a great app for wanting to create your own music on your own. This app allows you to record yourself using the microphone. You can use instruments, singing, or sounds like beat boxing to create your own song. To start out you have 6 circles on the page(Which can be changed to 9 or 12.) and when you click on one it begins recording. You can choose how many beats you want to record per minute(BPM) starting from 1 and going up to 400! Loopy HD is a easy to get used to. All the settings are on the right hand side of the screen in an orange panel that can be slides in and out to show more and less setting options. Here you can choose to pause or play your session, you can adjust tempo and BPM, the length of each loop and the metronome. When you slide the panel to the left options like recording the song, you can also pull up old sessions and listen to them. Here you can chose to import your sessions by recording them then going to the recordings sections and clicking on the project you want to import then choose which way you want to export it. Setting like adjusting the volume of each individual track can easily be adjusted sliding your finger clockwise over the track you want to adjust. You can also choose to re-record the certain track. Loopy HD uses motions like shaking the device you are working on to reset the session. This app opens so many doors for anyone who has access to the app. Both beginners and experts can use it. This is an app I can see myself using in the future for other classes or for fun.
Project 1
I used to "Ka" sound to imitate the snare drum. I only made the sound twice and ended the track recording so the snare drum sound only played on the. I clapped every second beat but only 3 times during the track. I tapped on the wall every beat. I tapped near the microphone on the iPad and recorded that every beat for 4 beats throughout the track. First off I made the "Ka" sound to imitate the snare drum. I knew there wasn't really a way to get this wrong so this was my first beat boxing sound I chose to use. I knew that the snare drum sounds best with snare drum And I made the "psh" sound to imitate the crash cymbal every other beat of a four count. I used other sound effects like clapping, snapping, and whistling. After I got the timing down and finished recording all the tracks I increased the BMP to about 180. This sped up all the tracks, but equally so all the sounds meshed well together.
